Samsung has officially unveiled its first-ever Extended Reality (XR) headset, called the Samsung Galaxy XR, during the Galaxy Unpacked October 2025 event. This next-generation device marks the company’s bold entry into the immersive tech space, blending augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) for a lifelike digital experience.
Built on Android XR, this headset comes equipped with cutting-edge features like hand-tracking controls, 3D photo and video capture, and Google’s Gemini AI assistant, offering users a seamless way to interact with digital environments.
Samsung Galaxy XR Headset: Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy XR Headset is priced at $1,799 (approx. ₹1,58,000) for the 16GB RAM and 256GB storage variant in the United States, and KRW 2,690,000 (approx. ₹1,65,000) in South Korea.
Samsung is also offering a monthly installment plan at $149 (approx. ₹13,000) for 12 months, making it more accessible to early adopters.
Currently, the headset is available only in the US and South Korea via Samsung’s official online store, and it comes in a single Silver Shadow color option. The company is yet to announce the India launch date.

The Galaxy XR Headset runs on the Android XR platform, optimized for mixed-reality performance. It sports micro-OLED displays with an ultra-sharp 3,552 x 3,840 pixels resolution, 27 million pixels, and up to 90Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals.

The Interpupillary Distance (IPD) can be adjusted between 54mm to 70mm, and users can attach prescription lenses sold separately for personalized comfort. The dimensions of the headset are 121.92 x 195.58 x 264.16mm, designed to distribute weight evenly during long usage sessions.
