Tata Motors Honors World Champion Indian Women's Cricket Team with Special Sierra SUV Gift
In a heartwarming gesture that beautifully bridges the worlds of sports glory and automotive excellence, Tata Motors has announced it will gift the legendary Sierra SUV to every member of India's history-making women's cricket team following their spectacular World Cup victory. The iconic automaker revealed that the first production batch of the all-new Tata Sierra, set for launch on November 25, 2025, will be presented to the champion athletes who captured the nation's heart with their stunning performance against South Africa in the finals. This extraordinary tribute represents more than just corporate generosity—it's a powerful symbol of national pride, recognizing the years of dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit that propelled these athletes to bring home India's first-ever Women's Cricket World Cup trophy in an emotionally charged final that will be remembered for generations.
The announcement came directly from Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited MD and CEO Shailesh Chandra, who emotionally stated, "The Indian women's cricket team has made every Indian proud with their extraordinary performance and magnificent victory. Their journey symbolizes the power of determination and belief that inspires every Indian. It is Tata Motors' privilege to present these legends with another legend—the Tata Sierra." This thoughtful gesture connects two iconic Indian stories: the triumphant resurgence of women's cricket and the much-anticipated return of a beloved automotive nameplate that first revolutionized the Indian SUV segment in the 1990s. Each team member will receive the top model variant of the Sierra, ensuring that these national heroes experience the very best of Indian automotive engineering as they continue to inspire millions of young athletes across the country.
The new Tata Sierra itself represents a magnificent blend of nostalgic design and cutting-edge technology, featuring a sculpted bonnet, sharp angular lines, and a distinctive connected LED light bar that pays homage to the original model's iconic wrap-around glass design while embracing contemporary aesthetics. Inside, the SUV boasts a triple-screen setup including a digital instrument cluster, infotainment unit, and co-passenger display, complemented by Level-2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and advanced connectivity features. Powered by both 1.5-liter turbo-petrol and 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engines with manual and automatic transmission options, and with an all-electric variant expected next year, the Sierra is poised to redefine the midsize SUV segment when it launches later this month with an expected price range of ₹13.5-24 lakh (ex-showroom).
