Tata’s Big Plans for India: 7 New Nameplates, EVs & Compact SUVs

Tata Motors is gearing up for a massive product revamp over the next five years, introducing over fifteen new vehicles tailored for the Indian market. The highlight of this ambitious plan is the launch of seven all-new nameplates targeting key passenger vehicle segments, boosting Tata’s lineup significantly.

Leading this charge is the new-generation Sierra, scheduled to launch next month with both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric (EV) variants. The Sierra EV version promises two battery options delivering a driving range of up to 500 km, slotting between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. The ICE Sierra models will feature a new 1.5-litre TGDI petrol engine producing 168 PS and 280 Nm torque, alongside a potential 2.0-litre diesel option.

Following Sierra is the premium Avinya concept, soon entering production to become Tata’s flagship offering. Besides these, Tata plans multiple fresh products internally named Product A and Product B (ICE models) and Product X and Product Y (EVs), signaling a blend of conventional and electric vehicles.

Supporting this prolific launch schedule, Tata has earmarked investments worth approximately Rs 35,000 crore for plant upgrades, R&D, and manufacturing capacity expansion. This comprehensive strategy strengthens Tata’s position in India’s fast-evolving passenger vehicle market, catering to diverse customer preferences across segments.
