Tata Sierra: Multiple Seating Layouts, Segment-First Tech & Comfort
Tata Sierra is set for a big comeback in India, launching soon in both electric and ICE versions with a choice of advanced seating layouts, segment-first features, and premium comfort upgrades. This much-awaited SUV creates a buzz thanks to its focus on practical luxury and modern technology.
Tata Motors will offer the Sierra in two key seating configurations—a regular five-seat layout with two up front and three at the rear, and a lounge-inspired arrangement featuring wide, reclining, and sliding seats with extendable leg support. Rear passengers can expect amenities like fold-out tray tables, individual armrests, and dedicated entertainment displays, making the Sierra ideal for chauffeur-driven comfort—an area Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai haven’t focused on for Indian buyers.
The cabin stands out with a triple-screen dashboard: a digital instrument cluster for the driver, a large central touchscreen, and an extra display for the front passenger—enabling control over music, navigation, video streaming, and games. Additional highlights include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, Level 2 ADAS, and multiple airbags for peace of mind.
Power options should include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel—offered with manual and automatic transmissions. Tata will launch the Sierra EV about a month later, featuring single-motor FWD and segment-first dual motor AWD capability. The EV variant brings V2L bi-directional charging, letting owners use the car’s battery power for external devices during outages or lifestyle needs.
With its spacious lounge-inspired cabin, tech-rich triple screens, and smart powertrain mix, the Tata Sierra sets a new standard for midsize SUVs in India, designed for fast market indexing, ranking, and premium user experience.
